Soul singer Erykah Badu is headed to Comedy Central to deliver some original tunes for a new animated series. It was revealed yesterday that Badu will take on the series as it’s scorer. Though Comedy Central has yet to announce the news, Badu confirmed her new job for the project entitled “Legends Of Chamberlain Heights” during her interview with The New Yorker.
According to a profile in The New Yorker, Badu is also working on a score for Legends Of Chamberlain Heights, a forthcoming animated series on Comedy Central. “I had to interview alongside all these other composers,” she tells The New Yorker. “Talked all kinds of shit. ‘Deadlines? No problem!’
We’ve seen seldom hints of Badu’s appreciation for comedy, like her appearances on the road with Dave Chappelle (Photoed above) and even The Chappelle Show (below). This newest job looks to further take her into the world of comedy.
