As reported Larry Wilmore will no longer be on Comedy Central after it was announced that his series The Nightly Show has been canceled. Last night following the news of his cancelation; Larry took to the desk to speak about it.
After Comedy Central announced yesterday that it’s decided to cancel The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, last night’s episode went from a typical election season episode to one of the last four episodes ever, and Wilmore opened the show with some thoughts on the sad news. After thanking Comedy Central, the Nightly Show staff, and fans, Wilmore reflected on all the work he and his team have done since the show debuted and the true meaning of the cancellation: “Really, our show was at its best when the news was at its worst, and I’m just so proud that we were able to take on real issues and hopefully say something powerful while making people laugh on some very, very dark days,” he said. “My only regret is that we won’t be around to cover this truly insane election season. Although, on the plus side, I must say our show going off the air has to only mean one thing: Racism is solved. We did it!”
