On January 8th, the world will be watching the 2017 Golden Globes which will highlight some of the best performances in entertainment. Before the moment arises with Jimmy Fallon as host; Vanity Fair decided to give out some of the awards early by releasing their own predictions. According to Vanity Fair, fan favorites Donald Glover and Issa Rae are taking the top spots in comedy this year.
But given the Golden Globes’ history of awarding the newest young women on the block, first-time nominee Issa Rae is looking pretty good in this category (Best Actress In A Comedy). As star and creator, she’s also a double threat—something the Globes loves to reward. Even if Atlanta does end up being bested in the comedy-series category—never count out Mozart in the Jungle!—it seems almost pre-ordained that its boyish auteur, Donald Glover, will emerge triumphant as best actor (in a comedy).
Check out all of their predictions here.
